Hair Loss and the Importance of a Healthy Diet

Hair cells grow faster than you think. Every person has more than 100,000 hair follicles on the scalp. Each hair follicle needs nutrients and blood supply to grow and remain healthy.

However, hair is not as important as other organs. That is why your body does not provide it with all its nutritional needs since there are more important organs that need these nutrients. Hair loss may result from the imbalance between nutrients and hair expansion.

It is not only about deficiencies, but also about excessive intake of certain nutrients. For example, iron and ferretin deficiencies can lead to hair loss. In addition, excess vitamin A can lead to hair loss.

How to Make My Diet Healthy for My hair?
Strict diets are not healthy; that is a fact. No modern diet includes all the essential elements needed for the body and/or hair health and growth. Diets that include high amounts of fruits and vegetables usually include a low amount of proteins and carbohydrates. On the other hand, diets that include high amounts of proteins or fat are not healthy too. They lack certain important nutrients that are essential for healthy hair.

Your hair cells need all nutrients, like all the cells in your body. A balanced diet of carbohydrates, proteins, vitamins, trace elements, and iron is required for the health of your hair.

Here are our tips that must be included to enhance your hair health.

1. Breakfast
Eating breakfast is one of the most important things you should do for your hair. The energy sent to your hair cells is very low when you wake up. Include proteins, complex carbohydrates, and essential omega 3, 6, & 9 fats in your breakfast.

2. Drink More Water
You should drink about 1.5 to 2 liters of water per day. This amount can decrease or increase according to the amount of water you lose per day and other factors such as climate.

Drinking less than 1.5 liters per day can lead to scalp dehydration, which leads to hair loss and weakness.

3. Proteins
Our hair cells require high amounts of proteins. Include fish, chicken, eggs, and other sources of proteins in your diet for healthier hair.
